1. Download  tar.gz installer file as below from oracle website :

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index-jsp-138363.html (download link)

jdk-8uversion-linux-x64.tar.gz (installer file)

2. Change to user as your wish. I have installed java here as ‘oracle’ user.

$ su – oracle

3. Copy the installer file where you want to install. Change ownership of the installer file if you download as different user:

$ chown oracle jdk-8u111-linux-x64.tar.gz (assigning ownership to oracle user)

4. Unpack the tarball and install the JDK.

$tar zxvf jdk-8uversion-linux-x64.tar.gz

The Java Development Kit files are installed in a directory called jdk1.8.0_version in the current directory.
